PING pro Pat Hurst birdied the final two holes at the LPGA’s Mastercard Classic to turn a one-shot deficit into her sixth career victory and first since 2006. Played at Mexico’s Bosque Real Country Club, Hurst edged fellow PING pro and World #1 Lorena Ochoa, who also birdied the last two holes to move into a tie for second.

Hurst relied on 14 PING clubs in her win, including a G10 driver and new iWi B60 putter to give PING driver and putter wins in all four LPGA events this year. She’s the third PING pro to win on the LPGA this season, joining Ochoa and Angela Stanford. Hurst also played G10 irons, two G2HL irons, G10 4- and 7-woods and three Tour wedges.

Now in her 15th year on tour, Hurst credited extra work on the practice putting green for her win. The victory moved the five-time Solheim Cup participant into 13th in the standings for the 2009 event at Rich Harvest Farms near Chicago.

Her 10-under-par total came on rounds of 68-70-68 over the mountainous course outside Mexico City. She had seven birdies in her final round and 18 for the week. For crowd-favorite Ochoa, the runner-up finish marked her third top 10 in as many starts this year.
