PING offers a variety of shaft flexes

in steel and graphite to meet every golfer's needs and preferences. The choice of graphite or steel for a hybrid depends on your game. Do you consider your hybrids to be more like fairway woods, or more like long irons?

For most golfers, the answer is fairway woods,

and the shaft material of choice is usually graphite to match their faiway woods. Other golfers consider hybrids to be more like long irons, and choose steel shafts to match their irons. In order to maintain the proper swingweight, the standard length for steel-shafted hybrids is ½" shorter than the standard length for graphite-shafted hybrids.
