PING integrates 3D experience into marketing campaign

PING® now offers an application for Apple® and Android® mobile devices that allows golfers to experience the innovations found in the new G25™ adjustable driver using a 3D technology known as Augmented Reality (AR). By downloading the PING app for either platform, golfers can bring the G25 driver to life by pointing their camera-enabled phone or tablet at a printed piece.

The free app is now available through Apple's App Store™ for the iPhone® or iPad® and on Google Play for Android devices.

"This is another exciting application to come out of our software development group," said John Solheim, PING Chairman & CEO. "The same in-house team that created our iPING® putting app and nFlight® Fitting Software is responsible for bringing this innovation to golfers so they can better experience the technology of our new G25 driver."

The back cover of the February issue of Golf Digest Magazine features a full-page PING ad detailing the new G25 adjustable driver and instructs readers on where to download the app. Once the app is loaded to the golfer's smart phone or tablet, they point their device at the print ad (known as the "target") and the AR interactive 3D experience begins. Golfers can also access the target via email directly from the PING app or on the PING website.

The 3D experience allows golfers to view the driver from multiple angles and features animation showing how the adjustable hosel is engineered with Trajectory Tuning® Technology. Golfers can also directly access PING’s Retailer Locator function to find a nearby authorized PING fitting center.
