PING Timeline - 1990's: Technology

Change best described the 90s for the industry leader.

Hero - 1990sYoungest son John assumed the reins of the company from his father in the middle of the decade and oversaw major product introductions like the TiSI driver, Isopur putter, i3 irons and Hoofer Carry Bag. While staying true to his father's philosophies, John set out to market the company differently. Among his ideas was a program in which key customers visited the PING factory for an inside look at the design and manufacturing operation. This more open approach to the business further strengthened the company's reputation as a leader in innovation, quality and service. In 1999, the company celebrated its 40th anniversary. That same year PING Inc. is formed as a subsidiary of Karsten Manufacturing Corporation to bring more attention to the brand name.
